About Us

Liza has been actively cooking and planning meals for over 60 years. At the age of 8 she began when her Mother was stricken with a crippling disease.  Momma would sit at the table and direct her to prepare the meals.  

By the time she was 20, she began working in restaurants as a server and worked up to being an assistant manager of a large chain steak house restaurant.

When she was 30, she was elected to the position of Convention Chairman for the California Federation of Women's Clubs - California Juniors.  She was entrusted to plan the annual convention for 500 women including the lodging, the catering, and the entertainment.

She studied business at Santa Rosa Junior College and completed all of their culinary courses as well.  She also enrolled in Tante Marie's Culinary Academy in San Francisco.  To this day, besides teaching her own culinary classes, she frequently takes classes for her own enrichment.

She opened Golden Gourmet Catering in 1987 in the San Francisco Bay Area where much of her clientele were corporate entities such as Genentec, Oracle, Cal Trans, SF Fire Chief, etc.

Since moving her business to Sacramento in 1999 she has added weddings as her featured speciality.

She works with each client individually to create the special event that they envision.  She can assist you with everything from rental equipment, bar service,and specialty vendors such as DJs, Photographers, etc. as well.
